ODEON says...
'The Guernsey Literary And Potato Peel Society' follows the adventures of Juliet, a journalist who decides to write about the book club held on the island while under German occupation.

Fascinated by the stories of their lives during the Second World War, she strikes up what will ultimately become a life-changing bond with the island's eccentric inhabitants, and may even find love while she's at it.

From the producers of 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel', and with an all-star British cast, comes a compelling romantic drama with an intriguing mystery at its heart., starring Lily James alongside Michiel Huisman, Matthew Goode and Penelope Wilton.

barely watchable

Reviewer: jimbo8Date: 2018-04-23

judging from other reviews, if you are a fan of the book you might like it, but I was utterly bored, the plot was flat, the characters not engaging, and even the "mystery" was not exploited properly. Very forgettable.

When Souls Meet

My ex GF gave me the book to read back in 2012. The book was a "cant put down" read, the film does not fall short in anyway. Beautiful story about an initially made up book club and how two souls find each other. I hope you find yours.

Delightful

A well acted British drama. The setting is the Nazi occupation of Guernsey and immediate post-war reverberations for one family. It is an intriguing tale that combines tragedy, love and romance. Delightful to watch.
