ODEON says...
400,000 Allied soldiers were trapped on the beach at ‘Dunkirk’, surrounded by the German army in the early days of the Second World War. And they needed to be evacuated.

France had been overrun, and the Allied army had been defeated and trapped. In a desperate effort to save the troops, more than 800 boats – from military ships to tiny civilian fishing boats – came to help with the evacuation that would become known as the Miracle of Dunkirk.

Christopher Nolan brings his vision to ‘Dunkirk’, one of the defining events of the 20th Century, starring Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance.

TENSION

I generally dislike "war movies" but the tension that builds up throughout this film is just amazing. Then agian there is a tad too much american patriotism involved for my taste.

disappointed

first 15mins good, disappointed with the rest of this lack lustre film. The loud musical score was off putting and added nothing to it, was just a drone most of the time. Script was non existant and the acting very poor even by established actors.

Magnificent....made you feel like you were there!

Visual feast

This is a sophisticated cinematic event. A charged score replaces a more traditional "story-driven" view to filmmaking, so there's little dialogue. But the images will stay with you.
